Ambulatory Surgery Center
In 1995 the physicians formed a separate entity: San Antonio Digestive Disease Consultants Endoscopy Center. It is an Ambulatory Surgery Center dedicated to performing most of the procedures that previously were performed in a Hospital setting. This provided the convenience of scheduling and was cost effective for the patients and insurance carriers.
The Endoscopy Center is located in the same building the physicians have their main office at 1804 NE Loop 410. In most cases a procedure can be scheduled within a few a days of the initial consultation. An Endoscopy Center employee obtains prior authorization for the procedure from their insurance carrier and confirms coverage benefits.
The Joint Commission in Healthcare Accreditation has accredited the ASC since 1997. This accreditation guarantees that the highest quality of endoscopic surgery will be provided to you. The doctors and staff pride themselves in maintaining excellent standards for patient care and have an active quality improvement program in place.
70% of employees of the ASC are RN
